Sensitivity tests of cosmic velocity fields to massive neutrinos

چکیده

We investigate impacts of massive neutrinos on the cosmic velocity fields, employing high-resolution cosmological $N$-body simulations provided by information-optimized CUBE code, where are evolved using collisionless hydrodynamics and their perturbations can be accurately resolved. In this study we focus, for first time, analysis massive-neutrino induced suppression effects in various field components magnitude, divergence, vorticity dispersion. By varying neutrino mass sum $M_\nu$ from 0 -- 0.4 eV, show that, power spectra exclusively sourced non-linear structure formation that is affected significantly very sensitive to sum, which potentially provide novel signatures detecting neutrinos. Furthermore, chi-square statistic, quantitatively test sensitivity density sum. Indeed, find spectrum has highest sensitivity, null hypothesis massless incompatible with both divergence $M_\nu=0.1$ eV at high significance ($p$-value $= 0.03$ $0.07$, respectively). These results demonstrate clearly importance peculiar measurements, particular components, determination hierarchy.

Cosmic neutrinos

The hunt for cosmic neutrinos has effectively just started. Recently, large detectors have been completed and are running, such as IceCube at the South Pole and ANTARES in the Mediterranean sea. Such detectors begin to access the region where neutrino fluxes at energies above 100 GeV are expected from shock and jet acceleration processes in the universe. The expectation for these fluxes comes f...

Massive neutrinos and magnetic fields in the early universe

Primordial magnetic fields and massive neutrinos can leave an interesting signal in the CMB temperature and polarization. We perform a systematic analysis of general perturbations in the radiation-dominated universe, accounting for any primordial magnetic field and including leading-order effects of the neutrino mass. We show that massive neutrinos qualitatively change the large-scale perturbat...

Physics of Massive Neutrinos

I summarize the present status of global analyses of neutrino oscillations, including the most recent KamLAND and K2K data, as well as the latest solar and atmospheric neutrino fluxes. I give the allowed ranges of the three– flavour oscillation parameters from the current worlds’ global neutrino data sample, their best fit values and discuss the small parameters α ≡ ∆m2sol/∆m 2 atm and sin 2 θ1...
